Tam bir yıl önce bugün NewsLabTurkey, Türkiye’nin dijital gazetecilik akademisi olarak yayın hayatına başladı. Amacımızı dünya çapındaki gazetecilik enstitülerinin dijital platformlarındakilere benzer içerikler yaratmak, farklı medya deneyimlerini okurlarımızla paylaşmak, küresel medya endüstrisinde olup biteni Türkiye’ye anlatmak ve dijital alanda eğitici içerikler yayınlayarak geleneksel akademiye göre değişime daha hızlı bir şekilde yanıt vermek olarak tanımlamıştık. The Guardian Foundation gibi ciddi ve küresel anlamda tanınan bir kurumla birlikte Toplumsal Bilgi ve İletişim Derneği çatısı altında İsveç Başkonsolosluğu’nun desteğiyle tamamladığımız bu bir yıl içerisinde web sitemizde ve podcast platformlarında toplam 219 özgün içerik ve çeviri paylaştık. Türkiye’de basılı gazeteler uzun süredir darboğazda. Artan maliyetler ve düşen tirajlar yayıncıları yeni yollar aramaya teşvik ediyor. Akla ilk gelen yöntem ise abonelik modeli. Türkiye’nin zorlu basın hayatında varlığını sürdürmekte kararlı olan azınlık gazeteleri Agos, Apoyevmatini ve Şalom ile gelir modelleri üzerine konuştuk. Gazeteci Hrant Dink ve arkadaşları tarafından 1996 yılında kurulan Agos Gazetesi, Cumhuriyet döneminin Türkçe-Ermenice olarak yayımlanan ilk gazetesi. Haftalık olarak yayımlanan gazetenin tirajı 3 bin 500 civarında seyrediyor. This first zine is a collection of transcripts on the attention economy, social media, and device use that have emerged as a recurring thread thought making permanently moved in the last 18 monts.

Future Issues will include original/new texts alongside the show transcriptions on or related to similar topics. I’d also like to collaborate with folks too – please get in touch! I’m aiming for one every two months or so, maybe more frequently. Who knows
